How It Works

Orders

title: Orders & Fulfilment description: How orders move from checkout to completion - what the seller does and what the buyer can expect.

Orders & Fulfilment

Order lifecycle

Every order on Linkforge goes through a simple two-status lifecycle:

Pending

Order created, seller notified by email.

Completed

Seller has published the link and marked the order done. Buyer receives a completion email.

What happens after a buyer checks out

Immediately after payment:

  • An order is created with status Pending
  • The seller receives an email notification with all order details
  • The order appears in the seller's Orders dashboard

The seller fulfils: The seller reads the order details - domain, link type, anchor text, target URL, and any notes - then publishes the link. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending on the seller's stated response time.

Completion: When the link is live, the seller marks the order Completed in the dashboard. The buyer receives a completion notification email.

Payment & money flow

Payment happens at checkout, before the seller does any work. Linkforge currently supports:

  • PayPal - buyer pays via PayPal, money goes directly to the seller's PayPal email
  • Manual - buyer receives payment instructions from the seller and pays off-platform
There is no escrow or dispute mechanism. If there is a dispute, buyers and sellers resolve it directly. Choose sellers with clear, professional profiles.
